The days of standing cluelessly in the hair care aisle are officially over! Having slow growing and naturally dry hair is something I've grown up with and honestly I'd accepted it as my fate that my hair would be just one of those things I'd have to "put up" with (pardon the pun, my hair would regularly find itself put up in a bun)- cast aside and its nourishment forgotten about. No one had ever told me I could enjoy my hair in its natural state. I discovered Watermans Grow Me shampoo earlier this year and haven't looked back since. My mum is white and my dad is African, and my hair is definitely more Afro than Caucasian! My edges are fluffy (not "laid") and throughout my childhood I would wear my hair in buns, braids and occasionally relax my regrowth - for manageability rather than the way it looked. Out of all the things I've done to my hair, chemicals have been the worst. Little did I know back then that these concoctions work at a cellular level and practically rip the hair shafts open and change the structure within. I'm talking about bleaches and relaxers. Once my journey to having straight, brittle and blonde hair proved futile, I felt lost and helpless that my hair would ever be long and beautiful like I'd hoped. I resorted to wigs and hats during my late teens early twenties. My hair was growing slowly but this made no difference as the ends snapped off and I'd become a scissor-happy monthly snipper!
Using Watermans Grow Me Shampoo
So I did some research. I was desperate for a cleansing yet caring shampoo and a conditioner that fed moisture into the strands rather than just coating them. I learned that Watermans are sulphate free and use rosemary extract (and many other hair growth goodies) in their products- this really caught my eye! Using natural stimulants and cutting out unnecessary artificial ingredients, Watermans Grow Me shampoo and conditioner is a duo that actively works with my hair, aiding its natural growth rather than stunting it! Working with nature rather than against it - always a good thing! These products are a god send to every hair type- I introduced Watermans to my mum who has long and straight but dry hair and my grandparents who have experienced thinning areas are now enjoying thick fresh regrowth.
Later in this blog I'm going to show you how to use Watermans Grow Me shampoo and conditioner for maximum growth benefits and take you through my (so far very successful!) personal hair regimen :)
2016 has been the year of hair care enlightmenment all thanks to Watermans.
