How to Use Hair Growth Conditioner for Healthy Looking Hair
Using hair conditioner is often the standard second step of every haircare routine – but why do we use it? We explain why conditioner is necessary for hair, what it does and how best to use it.
What Is Conditioner?
As its name suggests, hair conditioner is an agent designed to improve the hair’s condition.
Rich in moisturising and replenishing ingredients, hair growth conditioner can help to revitalise even the driest hair, leaving it looking healthy and glossy.
What Does Conditioner Do?
Once your shampoo has removed dirt, pollution and excess oils, apply conditioner to help restore lost moisture, smooth hair fibres and reduce frizz.
Hair conditioner coats the cuticles in a nourishing formula, helping to hydrate thirsty, dry and damaged strands, leaving them feeling nourished and strong.
Be warned: Never skip the conditioning stage of your haircare routine. Otherwise, hair will quickly look dull and lacklustre, and become more susceptible to tangling and breakage.
How to Use Conditioner
While the hair closest to the root is young and healthy, the lengths and ends have long been exposed to damage, brushing and styling, and require extra care. That’s where hair conditioner comes in.
Our Condition Me conditioner is formulated with restorative ingredients, (including Cholesterol, Caffeine and Rosemary) that help to deeply moisturise, smooth cuticles and fight frizz.
Step 1: Always Shampoo First
Conditioning should always be the second step in your haircare routine. Apply them the other way around and the shampoo could wash away all the goodness the conditioner has just provided.
Shampoo will remove dirt and excess oils from hair, creating a cleansed canvas, ready for your conditioner.
Step 2: Use the Right Amount
We recommend starting off with a small amount to avoid wasting the product. Apply a twenty pence-sized amount and, if hair still feels dry and damaged, apply more until hair is thickly coated
Step 3: Apply to the Ends and Lengths
While shampoo should be massaged into the scalp and roots of your hair, conditioner should be applied onto the lengths and ends. If the scalp is particularly dry, apply a small amount of conditioner to help replenish lost moisture. Just remember: moderation is key. Apply too much and it’ll weigh the hair down, leaving it looking flat.
If conditioner is applied to very wet hair, the water will create a barrier and prevent the hydrating ingredients from working their magic. Instead, apply conditioner to towel-dried hair until each strand is fully coated
Step 4: Leave For 3-10 Minutes
How long you leave conditioner to work its magic all depends on your hair type.
- For oily or normal hair, we recommend leaving conditioner in for at least 3 minutes.
- For dry hair, though, it’s best left in for at least 10 minutes.
Did you know that our Condition Me conditioner can also be used as a deep conditioning treatment? If hair is particularly damaged, dry or brittle, leave this conditioner in overnight for best results.
