Hair loss is listed as a possible side effect in the UK patient leaflet for Mounjaro (tirzepatide), and in its main clinical trial around 1 in 20 people reported it. In most cases it is the rapid weight loss and eating far less that trigger a temporary shed two to four months in, not damage to the follicle. It usually settles once your weight and eating level out. Mention it to your prescriber.
Both contain semaglutide. Hair loss is listed as a possible side effect for Wegovy, and people on Ozempic report the same thing when they lose weight quickly. The pattern is the same as Mounjaro: a temporary shed a few months in that settles as your weight stabilises.
